Do
you teach the traditional Usui method or something else?
I
teach the traditional Usui method as I learned it from
the Master who taught me Reiki. I have not added to this
traditional teaching.
If
you do a search on the internet, you will find many variations
of Reiki, such as Reiki Plus. I suggest that you ask the
person that you contact what has been added, where this
originates and why he or she has chosen to make additions
to the traditional method.
What
is the maximum number of students that you accept in a class?
I
accept a maximum of 8 students in my classes. This allows
for enough individual attention for each student.
Will
I get a chance to practice during the course?
During
level I course, my students get to practice self-treatment,
exchange a full treatment with another person and also
experience receiving and giving a treatment in a group.
What
are the different levels in the method that you teach?
In
the method that I teach, there are 4 levels:
Reiki
I – to treat yourself and others.
Reiki II – symbols are
taught that increase the healing power and allow distance
healing. A variation of the method called emotional/mental
Reiki is also taught. Reiki III – introduction
of the 1st Master symbol and a technique for harmonization.
Reiki Master / Teacher –
Master and Teaching level.
How may hours in each level ?
Reiki
I
The
Canadian Reiki Association requires a minimum of 8 hours
for level I. I teach this level in 10-12 hours, in an
evening and a day. I believe that this time is necessary
for a first time exposure to energy and a better integration
of what is taught. The night offers some integration
time.
Reiki
II
The
Canadian Reiki Association requires a minimum of 8 hours
for level I. I also teach this level in an 8 hour day.
Reiki
III
The
Canadian Reiki Association requires a minimum of 12
hours for level III, which in certain teaching methods
is the Master level. I have chosen to follow Dr. Arthur
Robinson’s method as it was taught to me. His
approach was to divide the Master level into 2 parts
to allow a longer integration time for the teaching
of this very important level. It is important to fully
integrate the teachings of this level so that it can
be transmitted to others.
Therefore
I teach this level in 1 day and I include 2 individual
sessions for each student of 1 hour each to allow personal
follow up in each person’s process. This tailors
the follow up to individual needs.
Niveau
Maître
I
teach this in two parts with a 4-8 week space in between
each part. In the 1st part, I initiate the person to
the symbols and in the 2nd part, I teach how to teach
each level. Again, I include I include 2 individual
sessions for each student of 1 hour each to allow personal
follow up in each person’s process. This tailors
the follow up to individual needs.
How
many initiations are there in each level ?
Reiki
I – This level includes 4 sacred initiation
rituals.
Reiki
II – This level includes 2 sacred initiation
rituals.
Reiki
III – This level includes 1 sacred initiation
rituals.
Master
Level – This level includes 2 sacred initiation
rituals.
Is
it wise or possible to change Reiki Master from one level
to the other ?
Yes,
you are free to choose a different Master for each level
if you wish. This offers you a different perspective and
allows you to see how each Master has integrated the method
and the teachings in his life.
What
is especially important is that you take the course from
a person with whom you feel comfortable and who has given
you the impression that he or she has integrated Reiki
in his life. You do not “do” Reiki, you live
it.
If
you change Reiki Master, be sure to get a certificate
pour each level that you have taken as it is highly probable
that the new Master will ask you for these before he accepts
to teach you at a higher level.
Do
you offer any support and follow up for your students ?
It
is important that the Master be available to answer questions
that might come up was you are integrating Reiki, especially
for the 3 or 4 weeks following the course.
Some
Masters organize practice sessions (Reiki shares) where
you can ask questions and practice exchanging Reiki with
others.
